Because it’s just not a football game without a little Broadway.

Good morning, sports-loving America! This is your friendly reminder to tune in to NBC's Super Bowl XLIX broadcast tonight at 6:20pm EST, live from the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

You may not know the difference between a Patriot and a Seahawk, and mentions of "Deflate-Gate" may leave you with feelings of either ambivalence or confusion, but at the very least — aside from all-you-can-drink beer and a large plate of nachos — today's festivities promise a butt-kicking National Anthem performance by Broadway's one-and-only Idina Menzel…because every show needs a killer opening number.

The Tony-winning If/Then star is taking a few days off from her Broadway run to participate in the time-honored tradition and spread her vocal chords beyond the city of New York. As the opening act, her part will be done early, giving you plenty of time to restock your plate of chicken wings before the next round of billion-dollar commercials — or the next down…whatever you're into.

If the Super Bowl just isn't your thing, you can check out Idina live in If/Then by clicking here.
