Even an imperfect family is family enough. This assertion rings true in Beth Henley's Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy, which tells the zany story of a dysfunctional southern family with passion, loads of humor, and a heck of a lot of heart. Each Magrath sister — back together in the scorching heat of Hazlehurst, Mississippi — is at a turning point in her life. With all its trouble, the Magrath household starts to resemble the eye of a hurricane as the world around it falls to pieces. Ultimately, in all the wackiness, the family members look to each other — and to past loves and lawyers — for strength and understanding. The Magrath sisters have emotional issues, to be sure, but those issues are coupled with an enormous capacity to love when the sisters come to terms with their own crimes of the heart.
Nozes Off is a look behind the greasepaint into the lives of a clown troupe. The show gives the audience a peek behind the curtain and into the psyche of performers as they transform from everyday people into their outrageous clown alter egos.
The six characters of Nozes Off take the audience through an entire night of clowning, from call time, when the actors show up in their street clothes and start smearing clown white across their cheeks, to after the curtain falls and the wash rags, cold cream, and self-reflection come out.
Note: Nozes Off contains adult content, so no kiddos at this clown show, please.
Every Saturday night in January and February, the cast of Start Trekkin' takes audiences on a never-before-seen, never-to-be-seen-again trek through the many worlds of the beloved, campy 1960s sci-fi TV show Star Trek by cleverly blending audience suggestions with the Star Trek canon.
