An Intervention, presented by the Williamstown Theatre Festival, starts its run tonight on the Nikos Stage.

The essential question of the play is, can two people’s relationship survive copious amounts of booze, a new girlfriend, and government involvement between a foreign war? Or will all of these complex factors create an impassable distance between them? Amid the chaos the two try to close the gap as the situation reaches a breaking point in an examination of personal and political intervention.

Written by Olivier Award winner Mike Bartlett and directed by Lila Neugebauer, the show offers two different casts in its short run. Cast one features Betty Gilpin and Debargo Sanyal, and cast two features Josh Hamilton and Justin Long.

The creative team includes Laura Jellinek (set design), Kaye Voyce (costume design), Ben Stanton (lighting design), Brandon Walcott (sound design), Thomas Schall (fight director), and Steve Milosevich (stage manager).

Performances will run through August 23.
