Barrington Stage Company has announced that Artistic Director Julianne Boyd will take over as director of the world premiere musical Broadway Bounty Hunter. Original director Leah C. Gardiner has parted ways with the production due to creative differences.

The show, which features a score by Joe Iconis and a book by Iconis and his frequent collaborators Lance Rubin and Jason "SweetTooth" Williams, will now have its first preview on August 13 rather than today, August 12, as previously announced. The production is set to run through September 4 with an opening night on August 19 at Barrington's St. Germain Stage.

Starring Annie Golden (Violet), Broadway Bounty Hunter is inspired by the Blaxploitation movies of the 1970s and tells the story of Annie, a 60-year-old unemployed actor who becomes a bounty hunter in an effort to capture a drug warlord. Choreography is by Jeffrey Page, and Joel Waggoner serves as music director.

The cast also includes Jeff McCarthy as Mac Roundtree as well as Alan H. Green, Scott Watanabe, Badia Farha, Kourtney Keitt, Anastacia McCleskey, Jamie Patterson, Porsha Putney, George Salazar, Shannon Tyo, and Jason Veasey.

The production features sets by Timothy Mackabee, lights by Eric Southern, costumes by Bobby Frederick Tilley, and sound by Josh Millican. Music supervision and orchestrations are by Charlie Rosen.
