Hand to God begins performances tonight at SpeakEasy Stage Company. David R. Gammons directs.

Playwright Robert Askins' Tony-nominated comedy is described as "the story of an awkward Texas teen named Jason, who spends his afternoons at his local church, practicing for the Christian Puppet Ministry run by his widowed mother. All hell literally
breaks loose, however, when Jason’s puppet Tyrone takes on a shocking and dangerously irreverent personality all its own."

Eliott Purcell leads the cast as Jason/Tyrone. He is joined by Marianna Bassham (Margery Josephine Elwood), Dario Ladani Sanchez (Timothy), and Lewis D. Wheeler (Pastor Greg).

The production team includes Cristina Todesco (scenic design), Gail Astrid Buckley (costume design), Jeff Adelberg (lighting design), Andrew Duncan Will (sound design), Ted Hewlett (fight choreography), Roxanna Myhrum (puppet coaching), and Jonathan Little (puppet design).

Performances continue through February 4.
