The It Gets Better Project was begun by writer Dan Savage and his partner Terry Miller last year after a rash of suicides by gay students who had faced bullying or harassment at school. The endeavor has included thousands of videos, both amateur and professional, and featured both famous and average Americans addressing young gay people and reiterating the concept that life will get better in adulthood.
