Drama Desk Awards Announce 2016 Outstanding Book of a Musical Nominees

The Drama Desk Awards has reinstated its Outstanding Book of a Musical category for this season's slate of awards.

The nominees are:

John Caird, Daddy Long Legs
Michael John LaChiusa, First Daughter Suite
Jessie Nelson, Waitress

The Drama Desk Awards, which are presented annually, honor outstanding achievement by professional theater artists on Broadway, off-Broadway, and off-off-Broadway. The awards are voted on by theater critics, journalists, editors, and publishers covering theater.

The Drama Desk Awards ceremony, hosted this year by Drama Desk winner Michael Urie (Buyer & Cellar, The Temperamentals), will take place on June 5 at New York's Town Hall.
