Emmy nominee Adam Driver (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) will return to Broadway in Michael Mayer's 2019 revival of Lanford Wilson's Burn This.
Burn This tells the story of four New Yorkers whose lives are uprooted by a young dancer's accidental death. Set in downtown New York in the raw and gritty 1980s, the combustible drama explores the spiritual and emotional isolation of the dangerous, sexy, raw, and demanding Pale (Driver) and the modern dancer Anna, and their tempestuous relationship after the two iconoclasts are brought together in the wake of a life-changing personal tragedy.
Driver's stage credits include Man and Boy, Mrs. Warren's Profession, Look Back in Anger, and Angels in America. Exact dates, venue, and additional casting will be announced.
The drama was originally announced for the 2016-17 season as a vehicle for Jake Gyllenhaal at the Hudson Theatre. The production was postponed and Gyllenhaal starred at the Hudson in Sunday In the Park With George instead.
