In celebration of Andrew Lloyd Webber's 70th birthday this March, UMe/Polydor will release Andrew Lloyd Webber Unmasked: The Platinum Collection on March 16.

Personally curated and overseen by Lloyd Webber himself, the multidisc compilation will include classics from his earliest work, starting with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, through his most recent, School of Rock.

In addition to featuring recordings by world-class performers such as Barbra Streisand, Madonna, Michael Crawford, Sarah Brightman, Michael Ball, and Beyoncé (whose rendition of "Learn to Be Lonely" from the 2005 Academy Awards, with Lloyd Webber accompanying on piano, will be released for the first time in this set), the collection will also include newly recorded songs from Lana Del Rey, Nicole Scherzinger, and Gregory Porter.

Unmasked: The Platinum Collection will be available as both two-CD and four-CD editions, with the four-disc version containing an exclusive 40-page book with an introduction by Lloyd Webber and notes on each track by theater critic and Lloyd Webber biographer Michael Coveney, together with tributes from Streisand, Glenn Close, and others.

The collection will be released not too long after the release of Lloyd Webber's new autobiography, Unmasked, on March 6 in the U.S. and March 8 in the U.K.

The two-CD edition is now available for preorder here, and the four-CD edition is available for preorder here.
