Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Anthony Edwards (best known for playing Dr. Mark Greene on the series ER) has been announced to make his Broadway debut alongside Joshua Jackson and Lauren Ridloff in the upcoming Broadway revival of Mark Medoff’s Children of a Lesser God. The production is set to play at Studio 54 for an open engagement starting March 22, 2018, with opening night set for Wednesday, April 11, 2018.

Edwards take on the role of Mr. Franklin. He joins previously announced cast members Kecia Lewis, Julee Cerda, Treshelle Edmond, and John McGinty as well as Joshua Jackson and Lauren Ridloff.

Tony winner Kenny Leon directs Children of a Lesser God, which tells the story of James Leeds, a teacher at a school for the deaf, and Sarah Norman, the school's former star pupil who has become a cleaning woman rather than venture into the hearing world. When the two connect and James begins to persuade her to communicate by lip reading, they embark on a journey that will change their lives.

Leon first directed the production earlier this summer at the Berkshire Theatre Group, with Jackson and Ridloff starring as James and Sarah. They reprise their roles and both make their Broadway debuts.

The creative team will include Tony winner Derek McLane (set design), Dede Ayite (costume design), and Tony nominee Mike Baldassari (lighting design), with casting for the production by Telsey Company.
