Barbra Streisand to Appear at the 2016 Tony Awards

Broadway’s “greatest star” returns to New York City for the event of the season.

The legendary Barbra Streisand will take to the Tony Awards stage for the first time since 1970 as a presenter at this year's ceremony. The 2016 Tony Awards, hosted by James Corden, will be held Sunday, June 12, at the Beacon Theatre and will be broadcast live on CBS from 8pm-11pm.

Streisand's appearance will precede the release of her third Broadway album Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway as well as her nine-city August North American concert tour: The Music…The Mem’ries…The Magic! She last appeared on Broadway in the original 1964 production of Funny Girl, earning a Tony nomination for her iconic performance as Fanny Brice. She garnered her first nomination in 1962 for her performance in I Can Get It for You Wholesale and was presented with a Special Tony Award in 1970.

The roster of stars set to appear at the 2016 Tony Awards ceremony also includes Oprah Winfrey, Cate Blanchett, 2016 Tony nominees Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, Carole King, Audra McDonald, Saoirse Ronan, Patina Miller, and Nathan Lane, among others.
