Rock icon Bruce Springsteen plans to head to Broadway this fall, according to the New York Post. Though specific dates have not been announced, Springsteen is expected to play a series of concerts during an eight-week run at the Walter Kerr Theatre, most recently home to the Amélie musical.

Springsteen's studio albums include Born to Run (1975) and Born in the U.S.A. (1984), among others. Over the course of his career, he has been awarded 20 Grammys and two Golden Globes. He is also a member of both the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Simon & Schuster recently published Springsteen's autobiography, Born to Run. It has been rumored that the artist may be interested in the idea of turning that book into a musical.
