Charlotte Kate Fox, the American-born star of the Japanese television series Massan, will make her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago for 16 performances only, November 2-15, at the Ambassador Theatre.

Fox, born and raised in New Mexico, starred in the role of Ellie on the drama, which completed a 150-episode run earlier this year. Following her Broadway run, she'll reprise her performance in the English-language production of Chicago in Japan, first at Tokyo's Theater Orb (December 4-23) and then at Osaka's Umeda Art Theater (December 26-27).

Featuring classic tunes by John Kander and Fred Ebb, Chicago tells the story of Roxie Hart, a nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media, and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer to transform her crime into a barrage of sensational headlines. The current revival, directed by Walter Bobbie, is now in its 19th year on Broadway.
