Tony Nominee Daniel Breaker to Join the Cast of Hamilton on Broadway

Tony nominee Daniel Breaker (Passing Strange) will join the Broadway cast of the musical Hamilton as Aaron Burr starting August 29, and Tony nominee Montego Glover (Memphis), will join the Chicago company of Hamilton in the role of Angelica Schuyler starting in early September. Breaker, who has been playing the role of Aaron Burr in Chicago since April 11, will play his final performance there on August 20.

Brandon Victor Dixon, Broadway's current Burr, will play his final performance on August 13. Glover replaces Karen Olivo, who takes her final bow as Angelica on August 6.

With book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and music direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, Hamilton is based on Ron Chernow's biography of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. The musical tells the story of Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington's right-hand man during the Revolutionary War, and was the new nation's first treasury secretary. The musical won 11 Tony Awards including Best Musical, Score, Book of a Musical, Direction of a Musical, Choreography, and Orchestrations.
