Hamilton Tony winner Daveed Diggs will play his final performance in the hit Broadway show tonight, as was announced earlier this week. While the dual roles of the Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson, for which Diggs won his 2016 Tony, are being recast, understudies Andrew Chappelle, Austin Smith, and Seth Stewart will take them on.

Directed by Thomas Kail and inspired by Ron Chernow's biography Alexander Hamilton, Hamilton explores the life of the American founding father and first Secretary of the Treasury, as well as his experiences as an orphan of the British West Indies who immigrated to the 13 Colonies and helped shape the United States of America. The show had its world premiere at the Public Theater and runs on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.

As previously announced, Hamilton stars Lin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odom Jr., and Phillipa Soo also recently played their final performances in the Broadway production, with all three exiting Miranda's Tony-winning musical on July 9.

In addition to Diggs, Hamilton currently stars Javier Muñoz (Alexander Hamilton), Tony winner Renée Elise Goldsberry (Angelica Schuyler), Lexi Lawson (Eliza Hamilton), Christopher Jackson (George Washington), Anthony Ramos (John Laurens, Phillip Hamilton), Okieriete Onaodowan (Hercules Mulligan, James Madison), and Jasmine Cephas Jones (Peggy Shuyler, Maria Reynolds).

Hamilton features Tony-winning choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, as well as Tony-winning orchestrations, costumes, and lighting design by Alex Lacamoire, Paul Tazewell, and Howell Binkley. The set is designed by Tony nominee David Korins.
