Melissa Errico will return to the stage in a revival of the classic musical Finian's Rainbow, a production of the Irish Repertory Theatre's 2016-17 season.

Errico, who starred in the Irish Rep's 2004 production of the Burton Lane-E.Y. Harburg-Fred Saidy tuner, will reprise her performance as Sharon, which she returned to earlier this year in a benefit concert for the company. Artistic director Charlotte Moore stages the production, which begins previews on October 26, opens on November 6, and runs through December 18. Additional information is still to be announced.

Also on tap this season is the New York premiere of Brian Friel's two-character one-act Afterplay, starring Dermot Crowley and Dearbhla Molloy. Joe Dowling directs the work, which follows two people from Chekhov plays, Sonya Serebriakova from Uncle Vanya and Andrey Prozorov from Three Sisters, meeting at a Moscow cafe in the 1920s. Afterplay begins previews in the W. Scott McLucas Studio Theater on September 22 and officially opens on September 29, for a limited engagement through November 6.

Additionally, Laoisa Sexton's The Pigeon in the Taj Mahal will run from November 16-December 31 in the Studio Theatre, directed by Alan Cox and starring Sexton and John Keating.
