Want to be the first to produce the 2015 Tony-winning Best Musical Fun Home at your community theater and/or university? You're in luck: Samuel French has acquired the performance rights for Jeanine Tesori and Lisa Kron's musical. The published Acting Edition is available now for purchase, although a license to actually present the show won't likely be available while the show is still open on Broadway.

Inspired by Alison Bechdel's graphic novel-memoir of the same title, Fun Home follows the real-life Bechdel's journey to accept the death of her stern, closeted father, Bruce, while coming to terms with her own sexuality. The production features a Tony winning score by Jeanine Tesori and Lisa Kron, and a Tony-winning book by Kron. Under the direction of Tony winner Sam Gold, it was first presented at the Public Theater in 2013.

The Broadway production of Fun Home opened at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre on April 19, with a cast that included 2015 Tony winner Michael Cerveris, Tony nominees Judy Kuhn, Beth Malone, Emily Skegs, and Sydney Lucas, and Roberta Colindrez, Zell Steele Morrow, Joel Perez, Oscar Williams, Lauren Patten, Gabriella Pizzolo, Marrick Smith, Jim Stanek, and Nicole Van Giesen.
