Grammy winner Jason Mraz is currently making his Broadway debut in Sara Bareilles's Waitress. During his 10-week run at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, Mraz is playing Dr. Pomatter, love interest to Betsy Woolf's Jenna, and photos of the singer-songwriter in the role have just been released.
Inspired by Adrienne Shelly's 2007 motion picture, Waitress features music and lyrics by Bareilles, a book by Jessie Nelson, and direction by Diane Paulus. The production opened April 24, 2016 and earned four Tony nominations.
Waitress also currently stars Drama Desk nominee Eric Anderson (Cal), Maia Nkenge Wilson (Becky), Caitlin Houlahan (Dawn), John Cullum (Joe), Will Swenson (Earl), Victoria Collett, Dayna Jarae Dantzler, Kayla Davion, Tyrone Davis Jr., Matt DeAngelis, Law Terrell Dunford, Katie Grober, Molly Hager, Molly Jobe, Brandon Kalm, Max Kumangai, Anastacia McCleskey, and Stephanie Torns.
The musical is choreographed by Lorin Latarro and designed by Scott Pask (sets), Suttirat Larlarb (costumes), Christopher Akerlind (lighting), and Jonathan Deans (sound). Nadia DiGiallonardo serves as musical director.
