Joshua Henry and Mandy Gonzalez, both of whom appeared in the original Broadway cast of Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quiara Alegría Hudes' musical In the Heights, will take on central roles in Miranda's Hamilton this fall in Chicago and on Broadway this fall.

Two-time Tony nominee Henry will originate the role of Aaron Burr in the Hamilton Chicago company, while Gonzalez will join the Broadway company this October, replacing Tony winner Renée Elise Goldsberry as Angelica Schuyler. Goldsberry’s final performance and Gonzalez’s first show will be announced at a later date. The Chicago production begins at the PrivateBank Theatre beginning September 27. Additionally, Jonathan Kirkland will take on the role of George Washington in the Chicago production.

In In the Heights, Gonzalez originated the role of Nina, while Henry appeared in the show's ensemble.

Directed by Thomas Kail and inspired by Ron Chernow's biography Alexander Hamilton, Hamilton explores the life of the American founding father and first Secretary of the Treasury, as well as his experiences as an orphan of the British West Indies who immigrated to the 13 Colonies and helped shape the United States of America.

The show, which had its world premiere at the Public Theater, features a book and score by Tony winner Miranda, with music direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Paul Tazewell, lighting design by Howell Binkley, and sound design by Nevin Steinberg.
