Broadway Barks has announced more celebrity participants — as well as a new award — for its July 8 event in Shubert Alley.

Tony nominee Kate Baldwin (Hello, Dolly!), Barrett Doss (Groundhog Day), Mamie Parris (Cats), Tony nominee Chad Kimball (Come From Away), Mimi Lieber (Indecent), Jelani Remy (The Lion King), Tony nominee Jennifer Simard (Hello, Dolly!), and Michael Xavier (Sunset Boulevard) will also participate in the 19th annual event, hosted this year by Tony winner Bernadette Peters and Malcolm McDowell.

In addition, Peters and Broadway Barks have established the annual Mary Tyler Moore Award, which will be given to an individual or group who has changed the lives of homeless animals in a way that encourages others to do the same. The award is named after the late Mary Tyler Moore, who cofounded Broadway Barks with Peters in 1999. Sophie Gamard, an award-winning French photographer and animal advocate who lives and works in New York, will be the inaugural honoree.

Produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, Broadway Barks is a yearly animal adopt-a-thon held in Shubert Alley that works to help promote animal adoption and make New York a no-kill city.
