SKB Records announced the upcoming release of Obsessed: Elton John, the third in Lena Hall's monthly series of EPs and weekly videos in which she celebrates her favorite musicians and bands. The album will be released on Friday, March 2.

Hall will feature five of Elton John's songs in the EP: "The Bitch Is Back"; "Someone Saved My Life Tonight"; "Take Me to the Pilot," a lesser known track that was originally the B-side of John's 1970 hit single "Your Song"; "Have Mercy on the Criminal," from the 1973 album Don't Shoot Me I'm Only the Piano Player; and "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting."

Previous releases in Hall's Obsessed series have focused on Peter Gabriel and Hedwig and the Angry Inch, in which she gave her breakout, Tony-winning performance as Yitzhak in the 2014 Broadway revival. Hall will celebrate the series with a performance at Rockwood Music Hall on Monday, February 26, at 8:30pm.

Before Hedwig, Hall appeared on Broadway in a number of musicals including Cats, 42nd Street, Dracula, Tarzan, and Kinky Boots. She reprised her Tony-winning performance in the national tour of Hedwig, taking on the title role at certain performances. In 2017, she starred in Lincoln Center's off-Broadway production of Sarah Ruhl's How to Transcend a Happy Marriage.
