Flashback Friday: Liza Minnelli and Chita Rivera Promote Chicago With Kander and Ebb

On the revival’s 20th anniversary, we remember the magic of its original run.

Chicago celebrated its 20th anniversary earlier this week, with the original stars of the 1996 revival on hand to commemorate the landmark achievement. Even though we're celebrating the show's second Broadway mounting, we were inspired to revisit the original 1975 production. The show's creators John Kander and Fred Ebb visited the Dinah Shore Show to perform a song from their new musical. The pair were joined by original Velma Kelly Chita Rivera and Liza Minnelli, who famously replaced Gwen Verdon for a short stint during the run. Watch the quartet of Broadway legends charm the live audience as they sit around the piano.
