Matilda The Musical will welcome two of the show's many alumni to the Broadway company this month.

Jennifer Blood, who played Miss Honey on the national tour, will join the Broadway company in that role on September 6. John Sanders, who originated the roles of the Party Entertainer/Sergei on Broadway, will take on the role of Mr. Wormwood beginning September 13. As previously announced, Lesli Margherita will return to the Shubert Theatre in the role of Mrs. Wormwood beginning September 6.

Featuring a Tony-winning book by Dennis Kelly and music and lyrics by Tim Minchin, Matilda is inspired by Roald Dahl's novel of the same name and tells the story of a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence, and psychokinetic powers. The production has sets and costumes by Rob Howell, with choreography by Peter Darling, orchestrations, additional music and musical supervision by Christopher Nightingale, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, and sound by Simon Baker.

Directed by Matthew Warchus, the musical began performances on March 4, 2013, and opened April 11 of that year. It will end its run at the Shubert Theatre on January 1, 2017, after 37 previews and 1,555 performances.
