Theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI) has secured the worldwide licensing rights to Irene Sankoff and David Hein's new Broadway musical Come From Away. The production is currently in performances at the Schoenfeld Theatre ahead of an opening night set for March 12.

The Musical Company will release the Come From Away original Broadway cast recording digitally, and the CD will be available exclusively at the Schoenfeld Theatre on March 10. The CD of the original Broadway cast recording of Come From Away will be released online and in stores on March 24.

Come From Away is described as follows: ''In a heartbeat, 38 planes with 6,579 passengers were stranded in a remote town in Newfoundland. The locals opened their hearts and homes, hosting this international community of strangers — spurring unexpected camaraderie in extraordinary circumstances. On September 11, 2001 the world stopped. On September 12, their stories moved us all."

The cast features Petrina Bromley, Geno Carr, Jenn Colella, Joel Hatch, Rodney Hicks, Kendra Kassebaum, Chad Kimball, Lee MacDougall, Caesar Samayoa, Q. Smith, Astrid Van Wieren, Sharon Wheatley, Josh Breckenridge, Susan Dunstan, Tamika Lawrence, and Tony LePage.

Tony Award nominee Christopher Ashley (Memphis) directs. Musical staging is by Tony Award nominee Kelly Devine, music supervision by Ian Eisendrath, scenic design by Tony Award winner Beowulf Boritt, costume design by Tony Award nominee Toni-Leslie James, lighting design by two-time Tony Award winner Howell Binkley, sound design by Tony Award nominee Gareth Owen, orchestrations by August Eriksmoen, and music arrangements by Ian Eisendrath.
