Bill Nighy, Cherry Jones, and More Honor Bob Crowley at New York Theatre Workshop Gala

The Tony-winning theater artist was feted for his work.

New York Theatre Workshop honored six-time Tony-winning theater designer Bob Crowley at its annual spring gala, held May 11 at the The Edison Ballroom. The evening featured appearances by Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins), An American in Paris stars Robert Fairchild and Leanne Cope, Skylight's Bill Nighy, original cast members from Broadway's Once, Cherry Jones (The Glass Menagerie), and more.

Bob Crowley is currently represented on Broadway with Disney's Aladdin, An American in Paris, The Audience, and Skylight, the latter three for which he received four 2015 Tony Award nominations. He won the honors for the Broadway productions of Carousel, Aida, The History Boys, Mary Poppins, The Coast of Utopia, and Once. He has designed many productions for The National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company, including The Plantagenets, for which he won an Olivier Award.
