Phillipa Soo and Marton Csokas to Join Uma Thurman on Broadway in The Parisian Woman

Amélie star Phillipa Soo will reunite with director Pam MacKinnon in the upcoming Broadway premiere of Beau Willimon’s The Parisian Woman. Previews begin November 7 at the Hudson Theatre, with opening night set for November 30.
Soo, a Tony nominee for Hamilton, will take on the role of Rebecca, with the newly announced Marton Csokas (Loving) making his Broadway debut as Peter. They join Uma Thurman, who makes her Broadway debut in the leading role of Chloe, as well as Josh Lucas and Tony winner Blair Brown.
The political drama is set in Washington, D.C., after the 2016 election, where Chloe (Thurman), a socialite armed with charm and wit, is coming to terms with politics, her past, her marriage, and an uncertain future. Dark humor and drama collide at this pivotal moment in Chloe's life, and in our nation's, when the truth isn't obvious and stakes couldn't be higher.
The creative team for The Parisian Woman includes Tony winner Derek McLane (scenic design), Tony winner Jane Greenwood (costume design), Tony winner Peter Kaczorowski (lighting design), three-time Drama Desk Award nominee Darrel Maloney (projections), and Broken Chord (sound design and original composition).
Willimon's inspiration for The Parisian Woman came from French dramatist Henri Becque's controversial play La Parisienne, which debuted in Paris in 1885. The Parisian Woman was commissioned and developed by the Flea Theater in New York City and was originally produced by South Coast Repertory.
