Rachelle Ann Go and Devin Ilaw are set to join the cast of Cameron Mackintosh’s upcoming Broadway production of Miss Saigon as Gigi and Thuy, respectively. Boublil and Schönberg’s legendary musical will play at the Broadway Theatre, beginning March 1 with an opening on March 23, under the direction of Laurence Connor.

The Broadway mounting comes after an acclaimed run at the Prince Edward Theatre in London's West End. As previously announced, Jon Jon Briones and Eva Noblezada, who originated the roles of The Engineer and Kim in that production, will reprise their roles in New York.

Rachelle Ann Go reprises her acclaimed West End performance as Gigi, a role for which she was named Best Supporting Actress in a Musical at the 2015 What’s On Stage Awards. Having begun her career by winning a nationally televised singing competition at the age of 17 in her native Philippines, Go has since released seven multiplatinum solo albums.

Devin Ilaw recently made his Broadway debut in Les Misérables and also played Marius in the 25th anniversary North American Tour of the musical. Ilaw first played Thuy in the 2010 Toronto Revival of Miss Saigon.

Miss Saigon features a book and lyrics by Alain Boublil, book and music by Claude-Michel Schonberg, lyrics by Richard Maltby Jr., and additional lyrics by Michael Mahler. Inspired by Puccini's Madame Butterfly, the musical tells the story of Kim, a young woman who falls for an American GI named Chris, as their lives are torn apart by the fall of Saigon.

In the vein of Mackintosh's current Tony-nominated revival of Les Misérables, this new production of Miss Saigon, is described as grittier and more realistic than the original, featuring new scenic designs and a new song for the character Ellen. Bob Avian provides the musical staging, with Geoffrey Garratt providing additional choreography.

Production design is by Totie Driver and Matt Kinley based on an original concept by Adrian Vaux, costume design is by Andreane Neofitou, lighting design is by Bruno Poet, sound design is by Mick Potter, and orchestrations are by William David Brohn.

The Broadway run will be limited through January 15, 2018, before launching a national tour later that year in Providence. It will also play engagements in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and more than 50 additional cities.
