Sara Bareilles has extended her stay in her musical Waitress through March 11, producers have announced. Her six-week stint was originally scheduled to conclude on February 25.

Inspired by Adrienne Shelly's 2007 motion picture, Waitress features music and lyrics by Bareilles, a book by Jessie Nelson, and direction by Diane Paulus. The production opened April 24, 2016, at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre and earned four Tony nominations.

The principal company also includes Jason Mraz (Dr. Pomatter), NaTasha Yvette Williams (Becky), Caitlin Houlahan (Dawn), Christopher Fitzgerald (Ogie), Joe Tippett (Earl), Dakin Matthews (Joe), and Benny Elledge (Cal). Drew Gehling will return to the role of Dr. Pomatter beginning February 13 following Mraz's run in the show.

The musical is choreographed by Lorin Latarro and designed by Scott Pask (sets), Suttirat Larlarb (costumes), Christopher Akerlind (lighting), and Jonathan Deans (sound). Nadia DiGiallonardo serves as musical director.
