Glenn Close and the stars of the new Broadway revival of Sunset Boulevard met the press at the Palace Theatre on January 25. Directed by Lonny Price and featuring a 40-piece orchestra, performances begin February 2 in advance of a February 9 opening night.

Close returns to the role of Norma Desmond. She originated the role on Broadway in 1994 and won Tony and Drama Desk awards in 1995 for her performance. In this production, she will appear with the previously announced Michael Xavier (Joe Gillis), Siobhan Dillon (Betty Schaefer), and Fred Johanson (Max von Mayerling). The cast also includes Nancy Anderson, Mackenzie Bell, Preston Truman Boyd, Barry Busby, Britney Coleman, Julian Decker, Anissa Felix, Drew Foster, David Hess, Brittney Johnson, Katie Ladner, Stephanie Martignetti, Lauralyn McClelland, T. Oliver Reid, Lance Roberts, Stephanie Rothenberg, Graham Rowat, Paul Schoeffler, Andy Taylor, Sean Thompson, Matt Wall, and Jim Walton.

Sunset Boulevard features a Tony Award-winning score by Andrew Lloyd Webber, and a Tony Award-winning book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton. Based on the classic 1950 film of the same title, Sunset Boulevard follows Norma Desmond, a washed-up silent film star, who lives in a dilapidated mansion on Sunset Boulevard. When she encounters a young screenwriter named Joe Gillis, she sees him as her opportunity to make a comeback to the silver screen. Close's performance as the iconic Desmond earned her a third Tony Award in 1995.
