The organizers of TEDxBroadway have announced the first group of speakers set for the annual conference, returning to New World Stages on February 27, 2018. The one-day event, exclusively dedicated to the vitality of Broadway, presents a wide variety of speakers and topics to contribute to the overall question of the day: "What’s the Best Broadway Can Be?"

Speakers for TEDxBroadway 2018 include Shakina Nayfack (Lola on the Hulu comedy series Difficult People, founding artistic director of Musical Theatre Factory); Michael Riedel (theater columnist for The New York Post and host of On the Town With Michael Riedel on AM 970); Shaina Taub (New York-based songwriter and performer, winner of a Jonathan Larson Grant and Ars Nova’s 2012 composer in residence); and David Yazbek (Tony-nominated composer of The Full Monty, Women of the Verge…, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and The Band's Visit, opening on Broadway this fall).

"A big part of planning this year’s event was tapping into this TEDxBroadway community we’ve built over the last six years," said Damian Bazadona, TEDxBroadway co-organizer and founder of Situation Interactive. "Their commitment to this — whether it’s introducing new ideas, suggesting speakers, offering sponsorships or just genuinely being ready to talk about the future — tells us we’re on the right track."

TEDxBroadway is sponsored by Jujamcyn Theatres, Broadway.com, the Shubert Organization, the Nederlander Organization, and Disney Theatrical Productions.
