First Look at Laura Osnes and Corey Cott as The Bandstand Preps for Broadway

The new musical has set its sights on the 2016-17 Broadway season.

Following its world-premiere production at Paper Mill Playhouse this past fall, The Bandstand, a new musical by Richard Oberacker and Robert Taylor, has announced plans for a Broadway transfer.

The story follows a mismatched band of World War II veterans who join together to compete in a national radio contest in hopes of winning instant stardom. When lead singer Donny Novitski meets a beautiful young singer named Julia, he finds the voice that can lead the band to the grand finale.

Two-time Tony nominee Laura Osnes and Corey Cott will lead the cast to the Great White Way, with direction and choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton). Dates and a venue for the impending production have yet to be announced, but we have the following image from a recent promotional photo shoot as a promise that the show will make good on its word.
