Manhattan Theatre Club and the Royal Court Theatre's production of Lucy Kirkwood's new drama The Children celebrated its opening night at Broadway's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on December 2. Previews began November 28.

The work follows a pair of retired scientists who are visited by an old friend for a shocking reason as the world outside is torn apart by a nuclear disaster. Original London cast members Francesca Annis, Ron Cook, and Deborah Findlay star. James Macdonald directs.

The production features scenic and costume design by Miriam Buether, lighting by Peter Mumford, and sound by Max Pappenheim.
