The Cast of The Color Purple Take Their Bows After the Show's First Performance

Cynthia Erivo, Jennifer Hudson, and Danielle Brooks star in the revival.

Oscar and Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson, Cynthia Erivo, and Danielle Brooks took their first bows in The Color Purple at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on November 10, when the John Doyle revival had its first preview. See Hudson, along with her castmates, in her first-ever Broadway curtain call in the video below.

In addition to Erivo as Celie, Hudson as Shug Avery, and Brooks as Sofia, the cast features Isaiah Johnson as Mister, Joaquina Kalukango as Nettie, and Kyle Scatliffe as Harpo. The production's ensemble is made up of Phoenix Best, Dwayne Clark, Lawrence Clayton, Carrie Compere, Patrice Covington, Adrianna Hicks, Bre Jackson, Grasan Kingsberry, Kevyn Morrow, Ken Robinson, Antoine L. Smith, Carla R. Stewart, Akron Watson, and Rema Webb.
