The Broadway production of Wicked hit its milestone 5,000th performance at the Gershwin Theatre on October 28. To toast the occasion, the cast and creative team headed to the Palm Restaurant, where they celebrated with a beautiful cake.

Rachel Tucker and Kara Lindsay lead the current company of Wicked as Elphaba and Glinda, respectively, along with Jonah Platt as Fiyero, Michele Lee as Madame Morrible, and Fred Applegate as the Wizard. Wicked officially opened on Broadway on October 30, 2003.

Based on the novel of the same name by Gregory Maguire, Wicked is set in the land of Oz and tells the story of young girls Glinda and Elphaba, who grow up to become Glinda the Good Witch and the Wicked Witch of the West. It features hit songs like "Popular," "For Good," and "Defying Gravity." Wicked features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and a book by Winnie Holzman. The production is directed by Joe Mantello with musical staging by Wayne Cilento.
