How do they do it? Be so offensive, then send us away with moral lessons. And then there's the great book, hummable music, and fantastic performances. Do it again, Matt and Trey. Please.
2hr. 30min. (1 intermission)
Possibly the best show ever - great music, fun choreography, hilarious show!!! Who cares if you have to wait 6 months - get tickets, its worth it!
I was a lucky lottery winner and got to sit in the front row for the Wednesday matinee. Although I had heard the soundtrack and was familiar with the story, I laughed out loud along with those who didnt know what was coming. The acting, music, choreography and story are all first rate! It was definitely deserving of 9 Tony Awards - and more! Order your tickets and do not miss this show!
Well, we are certainly in the major minority. We hated this show. Songs and lyrics were sophomoric and inane! We were ready to leave at intermission but didnt--hoping it would get better. Never happened. It was so disappointing! There are so many great shows on Broadway--miss this one.
Saw it Sunday this is tuesday and I still hurt from laughing.I thought my wife would need CPR at intermission This was perfection on every level. Just as one scene changes, you barely have time to recover before you are doubled over and gasping for air again. To all the cast and crew..THANK YOU for my best experence at the theatre in 50 years
A great show with good laughs, a sweet message, and fabulous actors, especially, Nikki, Josh & Andrew!
If you like theatrical comedy at its best, dont miss this one.
Best show Ive seen in a long time. Left me with such a good feeling, I went back to capture it again. I highly recommend it. There is foul language and it is not politically correct, but it is hilarious.
I saw the show this past weekend not knowing what to expect. I am not a South Park fan so all I knew that it was a spoof on the Mormon religion. Well the show opens with a rocking high energy number and takes off from there. I thought it was not only tastefully done, it was hysterical, especially in the second act. I was laughing so hard I was choking! Go see the show!
Loved every minute of it. I left the theater with sore abs and cheeks from laughing! It is completely un-PC, so if youre easily offended, see another show.
This hilarious, irreverant musical should win the Tony; but if it does I would be hard pressed to find a number suitable for television. There is no way to explain the experience, other than to say "Get your tickets now because when it opens there wont be any left!!!"
I just saw a preview performance of "The Book of Mormon", and Im thrilled to have seen it. This is one of my favorites from the last 2-3 years. Fun. Original. Inventive. Different. Creative. Fabulously executed. This and "Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson" are probably my favorites of the last two years. "The Book of Mormon" has a terrific, energetic cast, irreverent, heretical, hysterical, smart, and heady songs and music, and amazing energy. There was no doubt that I was going to be standing in an ovation at the end of the show, and without hesitation, as expected, the audience enthusiastically rose to their feet, clapping and happy, at the end of this terrific show. GO!!
This show is a lol crowd pleaser. There is a warm plot, plenty of talented song and dance and great humor. As others have said, the subject is treated factually and in the end there is a supportive message communicated. I would see it again. This is adult only show because of the joke content - like South Park but with great songs and very talented cast.

I went expecting to see something different but was surprised at what a solid traditional piece of musical theatre this is. The content is very edgy they really dont have to milk the Mormon laughs -- this is out there stuff but its based in reality. The shows creators manage to make you care about the missionaries and the African villagers while you witness some high energy musical numbers with singing and tap dancing. The audience was right there with the actors and very vocal in a good way -- I loved the experience. The show is perfectly cast and acted. I plan to see it again.
This show is great! The actors are talented, the songs are good and the whole show is very funny. Irreverent, of course, but the Mormon stuff is pretty much factual Mormon ideas and traditions which are, sorry to say, pretty funny on their own. I did not expect the African angle, but it only adds to the humor. The show even has a message of sorts. I plan to see it again.....
