Chicago’s Gorilla Tango Theatre pays tribute to the leader of the Jackson 5 with That Was It: The Tragic Tale of Our King Michael Jackson. Written by C.J. Tuor and directed and choreographed by Ali Keirn, the production will run August 3-September 28.

A parodied-Greek retelling of the rise and fall of the beloved King of Pop, That Was It revisits Michael Jackson’s journey to superstardom, his relationships with his celebrity friends, his fall from public favor, and (of course) his most iconic moves. Featured performers will include Tom Daily, Javier Dominguez, Annie Donley, Emily Goldberg, Jonathan Horn, Mike Maggio, Colette Unger, and Giselle Vaughn.
