Tony Yazbeck to Replace Injured Sean Palmer in Chicago Singin’ in the Rain

Broadway performer Tony Yazbeck will replace injured star Sean Palmer as Don Lockwood in the Drury Lane Theatre production of Singin’ in the Rain, starting on November 21. Palmer, who injured his knee, will leave the production on November 18.

Bill Jenkins directs the show, which is based on the 1954 film of the same name starring Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds. The show is currently scheduled to run until January 13, with a press opening now set for November 30.

The cast also features Jenny Guse (Kathy Selden), Matthew Crowle (Cosmo), and Melissa Van Der Schyff (Lina Lamont), Don Forston (R.F. Simpson), Scott Calcagno (Roscoe Dexter), John Reeger (Diction Coach), Catherine Lord (Miss Dinsmore), Renee Matthews (Dora Bailey), and Cara Salerno (Lady in Green), along with William Carlos Angulo, Karissa Barney, Johnson Brock, Gary Calson, Daniel Coonley, Megan Farley, Betsy Farrar, Allyson Graves, Kyle Halford, Katie Huff, Jonathon Kwock, Katie Mazzini, Willie Mellina, Alexandra Palkovic, Laura Savage, Will Skrip, Brandon Springman, Amanda Tanguay, George Andrew Wolff and Zach Zube.

Yazbeck’s Broadway credits include Chicago, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, A Chorus Line, and both the 1989 and 2008 revivals of Gypsy.
