Building Characters From the Ocean Floor Up With The SpongeBob Musical

The SpongeBob Musical starts performances at Broadway in Chicago's Oriental Theatre on June 7. But before it launches into its world-premiere run, the production is offering a series of behind-the-scenes videos to introduce musical-theater audiences to the world of Bikini Bottom.

The first installment gave us a look inside the score, which features tunes from an illustrious group of Grammy-winning artists. Check out the production's latest backstage sneak peek, which delves into the different characters that director Tina Landau and her cast get to explore as they bring the cartoon world to life onstage.
