Gary Farmer and Tony nominee Elizabeth A. Davis (Once) will lead the cast of the new musical Indian Joe at Goodspeed Musicals' Norma Terris Theatre in Chester, Connecticut. Inspired by true events, the story tells the unlikely story of a homeless Native American man and a Texas beauty queen who never should have been friends. Performances will run from October 22-November 15.

The show features music by Davis, Luke Holloway, and Jason Michael Webb, lyrics by Davis, and a book by Davis and Christine Henry. Kim Weild will direct, with Matt Castle serving as musical director.

Davis will take on the role of Liz opposite Farmer — a musician, cultural activist, and filmmaker — who will play Joe. The cast will also feature Jahi A. Kearse (Holler If Ya Hear Me) as Jordan and Marion Markham (Spring Flung) as Mama. Luke Holloway, David Finch, and Paul Lincoln complete the company.

The creative team for Indian Joe will include set design by Edward Pierce, lighting design by Paul Miller, projection designs by C. Andrew Bauer, and sound design by Jay Hilton.
