Goodspeed Musicals has announced casting for its upcoming production of The Theory of Relativity, a new musical from the writers of The Story of My Life. Performances are set to run from May 7-31 at the Norma Terris Theatre.

The cast will include Jennifer Apple (Intimacy), Robert Ariza (I Am Harvey Milk at Avery Fisher Hall), Jane Bruce (Elf), and Victoria Cook (Into the Woods). Michael Browne and Michael Coale Grey, who were first seen in The Theory of Relativity at Goodspeed’s Festival of New Musicals last January, join the cast as well. The company will also include Kurt Hellerich (St. Louis Rep’s A Comedy of Errors), Caitlin Houlahan (NBC’s Peter Pan LIVE!), Gizel Jiménez, Kyra Maureen Kennedy, Mack Shirilla, Keith Potts, and Erin Kommor.

With music and lyrics by Neil Bartram and a book by Brian Hill, who also directs, The Theory of Relativity introduces an array of characters whose lives are surprisingly interconnected. Bartram and Hill are also in the process of developing musical adaptations of Disney’s Bedknobs and Broomsticks and Ray Bradbury’s Something Wicked This Way Comes for the stage.

The creative team for The Theory of Relativity includes set and costume design by Dane Laffrey, lighting design by Jennifer Schriever, sound design by Goodspeed’s Jay Hilton, and music direction by Daniel Green.
