Broadway's Loretta Ables Sayre and More Set for Goodspeed's Thoroughly Modern Millie

Goodspeed Musicals has announced casting for its upcoming production of Thoroughly Modern Millie, set to run April 21-July 2 with an official press opening May 10. Denis Jones will direct and choreograph, with Michael O’Flaherty serving as music director.

The show's cast will feature Taylor Quick as Millie, Tony nominee Loretta Ables Sayre (South Pacific) as Mrs. Meers, Dan DeLuca (first national tour of Newsies) as Jimmy, Samantha Sturm (Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn) as Miss Dorothy, Edward Watts (Scandalous) as Trevor Graydon, Ramona Keller (Brooklyn The Musical) as Muzzy, Christopher Shin (Mary Poppins) as Bun Foo, James Seol (Small Mouth Sounds) as Ching Ho, and Lucia Spina (Kinky Boots) as Miss Flannery.

The ensemble includes Darien Crago, Caley Crawford, Patrick Graver, Bryan Thomas Hunt, Emily Kelly, Daniel May, P.J. Palmer, Amelia Jo Parish, Sherisse Springer, Sarah Quinn Taylor, Amy Van Norstrand, Darius Wright, Evan Mayer, and Elise Mestichelli.

Thoroughly Modern Mille boasts a book by Richard Morris and Dick Scanlan, new music by Jeanine Tesori, and new lyrics by Dick Scanlan. The musical is based on the original story and screenplay by Richard Morris for the Universal Pictures Film. Set in 1922 New York, the show is described as "a mix of madcap mistaken identity, high-spirited show tunes, and tap-happy dance."

Scenic design will be by Paul Tate dePoo III, costumes by two-time Tony nominee Gregory Gale, lighting design by Rob Denton, hair and wig design by Mark Adam Rampmeyer, and sound design by Jay Hilton.
