Original Broadway cast member Jackie Burns (Wicked) has been announced to join fellow original Broadway cast member Anthony Rapp (Rent) and the rest of the previously announced cast in the national tour of If/Then, beginning January 27 at the Winspear Opera House in Dallas. Burns will star as Elizabeth, taking on the role from original Broadway lead Idina Menzel. Also joining the cast on January 27 will be Tamyra Gray (Rent) as Kate and Matthew Hydzik (Side Show) as Josh. Following the one-week engagement in Dallas, the tour will continue to play major cities across North America through August 2016.

If/Then tells the story of Elizabeth, a woman who moves back to New York City with the intention of starting fresh as she approaches 40. The story follows two separate paths that Elizabeth's life could take: one as a successful city planner, the other as a wife and mother. Directed by Michael Greif, the Broadway production ran for 29 previews and 401 performances at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.

Menzel received Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for her performance. Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey's score also received a Tony nomination. The show features choreography by Larry Keigwin, set design by Mark Wendland, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Kenneth Posner, and sound design by Brian Ronan.

The production also features Janine DiVita as Anne, Daren A. Herbert as Stephen, and Marc de la Cruz as David. The ensemble includes English Bernhardt, Charissa Bertels, Xavier Cano, Trey Ellett, Kyra Faith, Corey Greenan, Cliffton Hall, Deedee Magno Hall, Tyler McGee, Joseph Morales, Emily Rogers, and Alicia Taylor Tomasko.
