Broadway's Betsy Wolfe is the name buzzing around Page Six of The New York Post, which reported earlier today that the actress has landed the role of Elsa in the Broadway-bound stage adaptation of Disney's Frozen. Tony winner Idina Menzel famously voiced the role for the 2013 film.

The musical is scheduled to premiere at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts in August 2017 before a Broadway arrival in the spring of 2018.

As previously announced, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez (The Book of Mormon, Avenue Q), who received Oscars for their Frozen tune "Let It Go," will pen the show's full score, with the film's screenwriter and codirector Jennifer Lee penning the book. Peter Darling (Matilda The Musical) will serve as choreographer, with Alex Timbers (The Robber Bridegroom) directing.

The creative team will also be made up of Disney stage veterans Bob Crowley (set and costume design), Natasha Katz (lighting design), and Peter Hylenski (sound design). Stephen Oremus will serve as musical director.

Wolfe was last seen on Broadway in Woody Allen's Bullets Over Broadway in 2014. Her other Broadway credits include 110 in the Shade, Everyday Rapture, and The Mystery of Edwin Drood.
