The Bridges of Madison County national tour has announced the leading pair for its upcoming national tour, set to launch in Des Moines, Iowa, this December.

Elizabeth Stanley, currently starring as Claire DeLoone in the Broadway cast of On the Town, will play Francesca Johnson opposite Andrew Samonsky (South Pacific, The Hunchback of Notre Dame), who takes on the role of National Geographic photographer Robert Kincaid.

Based on the novel by Robert James Waller, The Bridges of Madison County tells the story of an Iowa farm wife who embarks on a life-changing four-day love affair with a traveling photographer.

Directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher (The King and I), the production features scenic design by Michael Yeargan, costume design by Catherine Zuber, lighting design by Donald Holder, sound design by Jon Weston, movement by Danny Mefford, and Tony-winning orchestrations by Jason Robert Brown, in addition to his Tony-winning score.

The national tour will make its first stop at the Des Moines Civic Center, beginning performances November 28, and will continue on to over 15 additional major markets across North America in its first season.

Bridges opened on Broadway at the Schoenfeld Theatre on February 20, 2014, and ran for a total of 100 performances. The cast was led by Steven Pasquale (Robert Kincaid) and Kelli O'Hara (Francesca Johnson), who earned a Tony nomination for her performance.
