New Musical Based on Jodi Picoult and Samantha Van Leer Novel Set for Run

Kansas City Repertory Theatre will present Between the Lines, a new musical based on the bestselling book by Jodi Picoult and Samantha Van Leer. With a score by Elyssa Samsel and Kate Anderson, and a book by Timothy Allen McDonald, the production, running September 8-October 1, is directed by Jeff Calhoun.

What happens when the line between fiction and fantasy becomes blurred with reality? When the handsome hero in her favorite book literally starts speaking to her, 17-year-old Delilah thinks she has found the perfect escape from the challenges of her life. Is it possible to live the story you want, if it’s not the story you’re in?

The cast includes Arielle Jacobs as Delilah and Curt Hansen as Prince Oliver. The design team is made up of Tobin Ost (set cesigner), Lindsay W. Davis (costume designer), Brad Peterson (projections designer), and Daniel Green (music supervisor).
