Full Casting Announced for London Production of Shrek the Musical

Full casting has been announced for the London production of Shrek the Musical, which will begin performances at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane on May 6, in anticipation of an official opening on June 7, according to Whatsonstage.com. Jason Moore and Rob Ashford will co-direct the production, which will have choreography by Josh Prince.

As previously reported, Nigel Lindsay will play Shrek, Amanda Holden will play Fiona, Richard Blackwood will play Donkey, and Nigel Harman will play Lord Farquaad.

The full company will also include Delroy Atkinson, Amy Beadel, Stephanie Bron, Dean Chisnall, Jon-Scott Clark, Ste Clough, Lee William-Davis, Ross Dawes, Lucie Downer, Alice Fearn, Michelle Francis, Ashley E Hale, Rosanna Hyland, Bradley Jaden, Aaron Lee Lambert, Emma Lindars, Grant Murphy, Spencer O’Brien, Landi Oshinowo, Damien Poole, Stuart Matthew Price, Jacqui Sanchez, Jonathan Stewart, Leigh-Anne Stone, Lucy Tapp, Karli Vale, Michael Watson, Samantha Allison, Chorlène Biron-Monnier, Lauren Dawes, Madeleine Hill, Emilia Jones, and Sophie Wythe.


The show, which is based on the story and characters from William Steig’s book Shrek! as well as the DreamWorks Animation film Shrek, features book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize-winner David Lindsay-Abaire, and music by Jeanine Tesori.

The creative team will include Tony Award winner Tim Hatley (scenic, costume and puppet design), Hugh Vanstone (lighting design), and Peter Hylenski (sound design).
