West End Beautiful Cast Helps Celebrate Carole King Musical's First Broadway Anniversary

Because, after all, you’ve got a friend.

The West End cast of Beautiful — The Carole King Musical has released a video to toast the first Broadway anniversary of its New York counterpart. The performers, who are currently in rehearsal for a February 10 start date at London's Aldwych Theatre, sing "You've Got a Friend" to celebrate the show, which officially opened at Broadway's Stephen Sondheim Theatre on January 12, 2014. Marc Bruni directed the New York production.

With a book by Douglas McGrath and a score featuring the hits of the Carole King-Gerry Goffin and Barry Mann-Cynthia Weil songbooks, Beautiful explores King's rise to fame as the defining songwriter of her generation. Tony winner Jessie Mueller stars on Broadway in the title role, alongside Tony nominees Anika Larsen and Jarrod Spector. The London cast is led by Katie Brayben as Carole King, Alan Morrissey as Gerry Goffin, Lorna Want as Cynthia Weil, and Ian McIntosh as Barry Mann.
