Katie Brayben Will Be the West End's Carole King in Beautiful Across the Pond

The hit Broadway musical opens in London in February 2015.

Katie Brayben has been announced to star in the upcoming West End production of Beautiful — The Carole King Musical, now running at Broadway's Stephen Sondheim Theatre and starring Tony Award winner Jessie Mueller. As previously announced, the musical will open at London's Aldwych Theatre, beginning previews on February 10 in advance of an official February 24 opening.

Joining Brayben in the cast will be Alan Morrissey as King’s husband and songwriting partner Gerry Goffin, Lorna Want as songwriter Cynthia Weil, Glynis Barber as Genie Klein, King’s mother, and Gary Trainor as music publisher and producer Don Kirshner.

Beautiful chronicles the early life and career of the legendary and groundbreaking singer/songwriter Carole King, featuring a book by Douglas McGrath. The songs are written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King, and by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, including hits such as "Will You Love Me Tomorrow," "One Fine Day," "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman," and more.
