On January 23, 2017, the John W. Engeman Theater in Northport, New York, will host two-time Tony Award winner and Northport native Patti LuPone, who will offer a benefit performance of her concert Don’t Monkey With Broadway. A portion of the concert's proceeds will go toward Northport High School’s Performing Arts Department.

In Don’t Monkey With Broadway, LuPone will explore how her lifelong love affair with Broadway began, performing interpretations of classic Broadway showtunes by Richard Rodgers, Lorenz Hart, Jule Styne, Stephen Schwartz, Charles Strouse, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, Cole Porter, and Irving Berlin. For the January 23 performance, she will be joined onstage by members of the Northport High School Choir.

LuPone is best known for her Tony-winning performances as Rose in Gypsy and Eva Perón in Evita. She has also received Tony nominations for her performances in The Robber Bridegroom, Anything Goes, Sweeney Todd, and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. She was last seen on Broadway in 2012 in David Mamet's two-hander The Anarchist.

Due to anticipated demand, tickets will be sold to Engeman Theater season ticket holders through a lottery system starting Friday, September 16, at noon.
