Darrell Hammond Set for Bay Street Theatre’s April 3 Spring Benefit, Upcoming Production of Tru

Darrell Hammond, who will star as Truman Capote in Bay Street Theatre’s upcoming production of the biodrama Tru (May 31-June 26), will be the special guest at the company’s spring benefit, to be held on Sunday, April 3.

The benefit event celebrates the East End’s own Truman Capote, beginning with a “Breakfast at Tiffany’s brunch” at The American Hotel at 11:30am. Following the brunch, activities will move to Bay Street and feature a champagne toast, live piano music, and a raffle with the chance for ticket buyers to this event to win a Tiffany & Co. sterling silver necklace. At 1:30 pm the film Breakfast at Tiffany’s (which was based on the book written by Capote) will be shown on the big screen.

Hammond was the longest running cast member on Saturday Night Live, performing for over 14 years. His Broadway credits include The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and he has previously appeared at Bay Street in Beyond Therapy and Romance.
